‘Conversations with AI :: Blue Mask’ is a visual and auditory representation of a dialogue between human and AI.
‘Conversations with AI :: Blue Mask’ began with a photo Julia took of a theatrical mask of Dionysus, created in the 2nd century C.E.
The dialogue between Julia and AI has evolved into a vocabulary of paintings, prints, and videos which are a series of responses stemming from the original photo of the mask. The theatrical mask of Dionysus has evolved during their discussion into subjects that hold the original at their core, but can be entirely different in composition, style, shape, colour, angle, and facial expression.
Either Julia or AI is the sole creator of each of the still images, where Julia’s replies are watercolour paintings, AI generates images made from pixels which are produced as giclée prints. AI produced the video and audio from the images, then Julia mixed and edited the video and audio to create the final versions.
