Reach for the Sky

Observe flowers and plants outdoors in the gardens surrounding the Clark Centre, then move to the studio to explore colour, light and texture to create unique, mixed-media interpretations of everything encountered outside. Portions of this class will take place outdoors depending on weather. Materials list will be provided.

Watercolours | Plein Air

Step outside the studio and into nature! Surrounded by fresh air and natural beauty, participants will learn to capture the essence of landscapes using expressive, fluid watercolour techniques. Suitable for all skill levels, this workshop offers a relaxed and supportive environment to connect with both nature and creativity. Participants will complete a watercolour painting in the size of their choosing. Materials list will be provided. An indoor studio will be available in the case of inclement weather.

Drawing in the Garden

Explore the many varieties of plants and flowers around the Clark Centre using dry media like pencil, pencil crayon or charcoal. Instruction on basic drawing techniques such as shading, composition and line. Learn to see like an artist using observations and fill your sketchbook with unique and beautiful pieces. Portions of this class will take place outdoors depending on weather. Materials list will be provided.

Therapeutic Art

Creative Calm | Neurographic Workshop

Neurographic art helps reduce stress and process emotions through intuitive drawing that requires no prior art experience. Focus on the present moment to regulate your nervous system while using your imagination to explore, and experience how art can make you feel good! This workshop will be held outside in a residential garden in mid-town Toronto, rain or shine (a pergola provides shade and protection from elements).
Non-clinical. Maximum five spots per session. All supplies will be provided, along with beverages. $60 per person.

Digital Art - Kids

Digital Art - Character Design (9 - 13 years)

Learn how to create a fun character and bring it to life digitally using computer software (Adobe Suite). Take home a high-resolution print of your character and a USB with your completed work in JPEG to send by e-mail or to print again at home.

Digital Art - Manga (9 - 13 years)

Create your own step-by-step exciting Manga characters while learning the basics of Adobe Illustrator. Take home a high-resolution print of your character and a USB with your completed work in JPEG to send by e-mail or to print again at home.

Wednesdays 1-2:30pm - August 5-August 26 FULL

Animated GIF (9 - 13 years)

Design and create your very own GIF to send to friends or post online. Take home a high resolution print out of one frame from your GIF and a USB with your completed work to send by e-mail or to print again at home.
